Biarritz lose Cabannes for two months

Biarritz’ higly-rated but injury prone centre Romain Cabannes is set to be out for two months after suffering a right knee injury in their 12-9 defeat by Clermont on Friday.


The 23-year-old former French Under-19 and Under-21 international has been plagued by injuries since coming to Biarritz from Pau in 2006 -missing out on last year’s Six Nations because of a serious head injury.


Although he returned later last season for the championship semi-final with Stade Francais, he was to miss the first two months of this campaign because of a groin problem.
