The Blues vs Chiefs is one of those New Zealand local derbies that will have more than a touch of spice. The Chiefs Mils Muliaina says that this will be the Chiefs year and they will reach the Semis at least.

The Blues were the first to score as Danny Lee made a break and dived for the line to score the first try of the day. Nick Evans missed the conversion.
The Chiefs got a penalty straight back and Stephen Donald slotted it to put the Chiefson the board.
The Blues gave another penalty away and again Stephen Donald slotted it putting the Chiefs in front.
It was the Chiefs turn to give a away a penalty next so Nick Evans took a shot at goal but missed the penalty.
Another penalty given away by the Chiefs a minute later gave Nick Evans another shot at goal but this time he slotted it putting the Blues back in front.
The Blues give away an easy penalty in front of the posts but Stephen Donald misses it hitting the posts.
The Chiefs are given a free kick in front of the posts where they would normally have taken a penalty. Under the new rules the Chiefs run it, Luaki gets close but the ball spills out and gets to Mils Muliaina who is open on the wing and he dives over to score the Chiefs first try. Donald’s conversion kick hits the post….again.

Brendon Leonard almost scored the first points of the second half but he is pushed out next to the corner flag.
Joe Rokocoko takes a flyer down the wing for the Blues, in Rokocoko’s pass the ball gets knocked on (or does it) by a Chiefs player and Troy Flavell is there to score a try for the Blues. Nick Evans conversion is good.
Flavell then gives away a penalty and Stephen Donald slots it and bring the Chiefs to within a point.
Joe Rokocoko scores a try for the Blues under the posts and Nick Evans converts. The Blues are now on the hunt for the Bonus point try.
The Chiefs are under huge pressure now and they give away a penalty so Nick Evans slots it between the posts. The Blues are so dominant at present that the bonus try looks almost inevitable.
The Bonus point try comes with six minutes spare on the clock and it’s Ben Atiga who is the try scorer for the Blues. Nick Evans converts. The Blues are finishing with a flourish.
Sitiveni Sivivatu gives away a penalty which gives the Blues good field position. They win the lineout but the ball goes dead.
