Italy lose Bortolussi for Six Nations

Italian back David Bortolussi will miss the remainder of the Six Nations tournament after fracturing a shoulder in training, his French club Montpellier said on Thursday.

Montpellier said Bortolussi, who landed four penalties and a conversion in Italy’s narrow loss to England at the weekend, would be out of action for about six weeks after suffering the injury Tuesday.

He had been a mainstay of a Squadra Azzurra which narrowly went down to both Ireland and England.

Italy next face Wales on February 23 before travelling to France and finishing their campaign by hosting Scotland on March 15.
