Carter to cover at scrum half

Dan Carter could find himself at scrumhalf in this year’s Super 14 final. This is because the Crusaders are considering using him as a back-up option after losing Andy Ellis with a torn medial ligament.

All Black Kevin Senio has not played in a final yet but he is set to start on Saturday so the beginning of the match wont be a problem.

If Senio is injured or needs to replaced that’s when the problem will arise. Xtramsn reports that their next best specialist No 9 is Matt France who is a former New Zealand under-19 representative but has not played first class rugby.

Coach Robbie Deans is reported as admitting that Carter is a possibility for the position but will be hoping that Senio can last the whole match.
